Heart Lexicon

Terms of use

The short version: this is a free dictionary, not personal advice. Quote us with a link, please do not copy the site.

What Heart Lexicon is

Heart Lexicon is a free dictionary that explains words about sexuality, intimacy, relationships, gender and sexual health. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

Information, not advice

Entries explain words and concepts. They are not medical, legal, psychological or relationship advice, and they do not replace a doctor, pharmacist, counsellor or other professional who knows your situation. Do not delay or ignore professional advice because of something you read here. Health entries cite public-health sources, but medical knowledge changes; health entries that have not yet been reviewed by a clinician say so.

Adult topics

The site is written for adults. It is never explicit, but some topics (for example Kink & BDSM) are marked 18+ and shown behind a notice.

Accuracy

We write carefully and review entries, but the site is provided "as is", without any warranty that it is complete, current or free of errors. Words mean different things to different people and communities, and the person using a word decides what they mean by it. If you find a mistake, please tell us.

The text, design and logo are ours. You are welcome to quote short passages with a link back to the entry, and to link to any page. Please do not republish entries in full, copy the site in bulk, or use it to train or feed AI systems without our written permission.

Fair use of the site

Do not try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site, and do not use automated tools that send requests faster than a normal reader would. Search engine crawlers that respect robots.txt are welcome.

Entries link to sources and support services that we do not run. We choose them carefully but are not responsible for their content or availability.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions: contact@heartlexicon.com.
